03, April 2026
Patrick M. Ryan, Co-Managing Partner of Bartko Pavia LLP and Chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice, has been named once again as Daily Journal’s Leading Commercial Litigators. The recognition honors top attorneys handling complex commercial and bet-the-company litigation matters nationwide.
Patrick brings more than twenty five years of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes disputes across antitrust, intellectual property, trade secret, and commercial litigation. His work spans industries including healthcare, technology, and manufacturing. He currently serves as lead plaintiff counsel in the BCBS antitrust litigation and has led numerous coordinated matters of national significance.
His recent trial results underscore that track record. Patrick served as lead trial counsel in Zest Labs v. Walmart, securing a $222.7 million jury verdict in 2025, the largest in Arkansas history. He also previously obtained an $845 million trade secrets judgment for ASML, ranked among the top verdicts nationally that year.
Patrick gravitates towards high stakes litigation matters and this drives how he approaches his docket. "I love taking the hard case, the ones that other lawyers think are unwinnable, because that makes winning all the sweeter," he said.
Over the past year, Patrick has also received multiple recognitions for his litigation work, further reflecting his standing among leading trial lawyers in complex commercial disputes. Some highlights include:
