Annabel Tresise, Senior Counsel and a member of Bartko Pavia’s trial team in the Litigation Practice group recently authored an article in Harvard Art Law Review Volume 2.

The article is a case comment on Bartz v. Anthropic PBC (2025), in which a federal court ruled that training LLMs on copyrighted books is fair use. While the decision appears favorable to AI companies, Tresise argues it actually opens three distinct avenues for future copyright plaintiffs to prevail.
